Privacy Policy

Feed Cleanser processes webpage content and stores your filtering choices locally in your browser. It does not send your data to the developer or any unrelated services.

What Feed Cleanser does

Feed Cleanser is a Chrome extension that lets you hide webpage content associated with profiles or keywords you choose. To provide this feature, the extension examines the rendered content of supported webpages on your device and applies your saved filtering rules.

Information processed

The extension may process the following information locally:

• Visible webpage content and page structure needed to identify content containers, authors, sellers, commenters, channels, profile links, and keyword matches.
• On eBay, item URLs and item-page content needed to resolve a seller when a visible listing card does not contain seller metadata.
• The hostname of a website where you create a filtering rule, so that the rule can be applied only to that website.
• Filtering choices you explicitly create, including blocked keywords and user-confirmed profile labels, identifiers, profile links, or stable entity IDs.
• Your enabled or paused filtering preference.

Feed Cleanser does not access or store passwords, authentication information, payment information, form entries, cookies, or your full browser history.

How information is used

This information is used only to identify and hide content that matches your filtering choices, display those choices in the extension popup and settings page, and restore your preferences when you continue browsing.

Storage and retention

Saved filtering choices are stored on your device using Chrome's local extension storage. Feed Cleanser does not operate a server or developer-controlled database. Saved choices remain until you remove them in the extension, clear the extension's data, or uninstall the extension.

Data transmission and sharing

Feed Cleanser does not transmit your webpage content, browsing activity, filtering choices, or other user data to the developer or to unrelated third parties. On eBay, the extension may request the item page for a visible listing directly from the same eBay website to identify its seller. The request may use your normal eBay session, but the extension does not read or store your cookies. Resolved item-to-seller mappings are kept only in memory for the current page session. Feed Cleanser does not sell user data, use user data for advertising, or use analytics or tracking services.

Permissions

• Website access: allows the extension to examine rendered HTTP and HTTPS pages locally and hide matching content.
• Active tab and scripting: allow the user to start the packaged on-page profile selection interface in the current tab.
• Storage: saves filtering choices and enabled or paused state locally in Chrome.

Remote code

Feed Cleanser does not download or execute remote code. All executable code is included in the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Feed Cleanser's use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if Feed Cleanser's functionality or data practices change. Any updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
